The V-meister and J-dog are still young enough that they haven't rebelled against the mother tongue, and think nothing of addressing me in Lithuanian wherever we happen to be.
The other day J-dog and I happened to be at Target, where many colorful items of craptastic plastic caught his discerning eye.
He ran up and down the aisles, happily pointing things out and shouting, "This! This! Mama, look at this! Ooooo, I want this! And this! And this!"
We got a lot of condescending looks.
Because the Lithuanian word for "this" . . .
is "šitas" ("SHIT-US.")
