The little J-dog was busy playing trucks when I popped in the DVD, but as soon as Julie Andrews came bounding over the horizon and opened her mouth to sing, his little head swiveled around like a periscope.
What is that exquisite sound?
Who is that beautiful lady . . . and why isn't she my mother?
He planted himself directly in front of the TV and gazed on with rapt attention for a good half hour.
Me, I was riveted by the fairytale plotline, the boundless optimism, the yodeling . . . and Captain Von Hawt, whose smokin' good looks had somehow evaded me for these past thirty-six years.

Christopher Plummer was (and still is) a hottie. I've been in lust with him since I was a kid.
He is HOT! How did I not notice that as a child?
My favorites are "order and symmetry" and "comments." So here I am!
My child is also immediately entranced by The Sound of Music...and Ambien commercials, but I don't think there's any connection.
I LOVE the Daily Show as well and comments...order and symmetry are unfortunately not a natural part of my genetic makeup, although I admire them greatly.
Yes, hot indeed. That Maria was no dummy.
Thank GOD for favorite things and that timeless movie. I love it. And, I know my kids will, too.
And, of course ...glad to see that LOST made the favorite list cut...
Two of my favorite things are baby milk breath and margaritas. (duh)
And The Sound of Music! What a wonderful movie. And when he sings Edelweiss - swoon!
we really must go for a drink... you could order for me!
Yup, Christopher Plummer was hotness in that movie. My heart gets a bit gooey when he sings Edelweiss.
Our househould has been all over the Sound of Music for the last few months. I should post my video of Theo singing "Doe a Deer." (Or, as he sings it, "do a duh, duh-duh-duh-duh.")
I'm also quite fond of many things on your list (as well as the list itself). I'm game for an evening of The Daily Show (I love Jon Stewart!), Sushi, and Guinness if you ever want to hang out.
And you know I love comments.
I'm also a big fan of harmony, though I can't say I know any Lithuanian folk songs. And what, pray tell, is Jello pretzel "salad"? Are we talking jello with pretzels in it?
I always thought my dad looked very much like Christopher Plummer. I kid you not. My dad was super handsome.
I LOVE me some Sound of Music. So good. :)
Fab list!
