Playing Hookie

We did not make it to V-meister's gymnastics class yesterday afternoon.

The sun was out.

The playground beckoned.

In it, a great puddle of mud with J-dog and V-meister's name on it.

People got wet.

And it was thrilling.

The very reason why galoshes were put on this earth.

N'est-ce pas?

Playing House with Sarah Palin

I know! I'm supposed to be working on my very important project!

But I stumbled upon the Sarah Palin Baby Name Generator.

Enjoy, my peeps, enjoy.

P.S. My name would have been "Spoon Archer Palin." Yours?

Parading Around the Living Room

Our Mardi Gras care package from Painted Maypole arrived in the mail yesterday. Packed full of beads and other carnival loot, it bought two exhausted and slightly edgy parents a good half hour of couch vegging time. (Thanks, PM!)

"Rawk-N-Roll"

"V-Meister Bündchen"

"J-Doglander"

"Well done, Maypole!"

P-Dawg:
"No, the pupil."*

*This question was originally posed by Winston Churchill during a 1930s Cambridge lecture.

********************************************************************************

But this is how I know we're no longer newlyweds:

Rimarama (excited): "Hey, P-Dawg, I took this "Which Lost Character Are You" quiz on Facebook and you'll never guess who I am!!!"

P-Dawg:
"The evil guy with the bug eyes?"

(Actually, I'm Doctor. Jack. Shephard.)

The 70s Were A Time for Living Dangerously

Check out my husband's pimped-out car seat, circa 1975, when he was 2 (I'm told the seat belt was looped through the side holes, but where is the sippy cup holder?):

Even then, they had their standards:
